Explore Pages Versus Following Feeds
Launch library · evergreen read

A following feed shows content specifically from accounts a viewer has chosen to follow, while an explore page surfaces content from across the platform based on predicted interest, meaning the two serve quite different purposes despite often sitting side by side in the same app. A viewer arriving through the explore page usually has no prior relationship with the account at all.
Content that performs well on an explore page does not always perform equally well within a following feed, since explore pages tend to reward broad, immediate appeal, while a following feed can sustain more niche or ongoing content built around an already established relationship with a specific audience. Building for one without considering the other often leaves real growth sitting unclaimed on the table.
Understanding this distinction helps explain why some creators focus deliberately on explore style content for growth, while others focus on deepening engagement within an existing following feed, since each pursues a genuinely different kind of audience relationship. Balancing both, rather than favouring one entirely, tends to serve a creator best over the long run.
