A song or sound used behind a video is just as much someone's genuine creative work as the visual content it accompanies, yet audio credit is often overlooked entirely in practice, with most attention going only to whoever filmed or edited the video itself rather than the sound.
Crediting a sound properly usually means more than simply using a platform's built in audio tag by default, it means being genuinely aware of who actually created the underlying track and giving that person real visibility, particularly once a sound becomes widely used across many unrelated videos.
As certain sounds become genuinely popular across a platform, the person behind them can gain real recognition and opportunity from that spread, but only if the audio credit stays attached and visible throughout, rather than quietly getting lost as the sound circulates further from its original source over time.
